Day 1 (Monday)                     BARCELONA / MADRID (train)
Make your own way to Barcelona Sants train station for AVE (high speed train) to Madrid. Upon arrival transfer from Madrid “Atocha” train station to Madrid hotel. Accommodation.
 
Day 2 (Tuesday)                    MADRID / ALIVIA / SALAMANCA / PORTO
Breakfast then transfer to Julia Travel bus terminal (Plaza de Oriente), depart at 8.30 and drive to Alivia for a short stop to visit this walled medieval town. Continue to Salamanca to enjoy some free time in this University City before departing for the Portuguese border, arrive in Porto. Accommodation.
 
Day 3 (Wednesday)               PORTO
This morning, after breakfast, enjoy a panoramic tour of this World Heritage city to admire the Cathedral, the stock Exchange building and the Santa Clara church. Accommodation. Possible Optional: Taste the famous “Port wine” at a local wine cellar.
 
Day 4 (Thursday)                   PORTO / COIMBRA / FATIMA
After breakfast depart for Coimbra, the site of one of the oldest universities in Europe; a centre of learning and culture as seen in ancient streets and architecture, and as the birthplace of Fado - the music of Portugal. Free time. Continue to Fatima, a centre of the Christian Faith and World Pilgrimage with its impressive Basilica and the Cova da Iria place, where the Virgin Mary appeared. The Chapel of the Apparitions, heart of the sanctuary, with the tombs of the three shepherds, Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta. Accommodation. Possible Optional: Tonight there is the possibility to attend the procession of the candles.
 
Day 5 (Friday)                       FATIMA / BATALHA / NAZARE / ALCOBACA / LISBON
Today, after breakfast, depart for the Batalha Monastery, a masterpiece of Gothic and Manueline style considered a UNESCO World Heritage site. Next travel to the picturesque fishing town of Nazare for some free time. Continue to Alcobaca another UNESCO World Heritage site and visit the 12th century church, admire the tombs of Pedro and Ines de Castro. This evening arrive in Lisbon. Accommodation. Evening Optional: Attend a show of Fado - typical Portuguese song and music.
 
Day 6 (Saturday)                    LISBON
This morning, after breakfast, take a sightseeing tour of the ancient Olissipo, drive through its main squares and avenues, Belem Tower, Jeronimos Monastery, Coach Museum, Monument to the Discoveries, Marquis of Pombal Square, Liberty Avenue. The afternoon is at leisure, maybe visit the Alfama quarter and the old city gathered next to the castle, with buildings nested in narrow twisting “Ruas” full of colour housing the genuine “tebernas” where Fado sounds as a missing past. Accommodation.
 
Day 7 (Sunday)                      LISBON / CACERES / CORDOBA
Breakfast and then depart for Caceres, considered World Heritage City because of the its blend of Roman, Islamic, Northern Gothic and Italian Renaissance architecture. Walk through its Plaza Mayor and the Old Town with its Medieval Quarter. Continue to Cordoba, once the capital of the Caliphate. Dinner and accommodation.
 
Day 8 (Monday)                     CORDOBA / SEVILLE
Today, after breakfast enjoy a Cordoba sightseeing tour including a visit to the magnificent 8th century Mezquita/Mosque/Cathedral and the historic Jewish quarter, with its narrow winding streets, decorated courtyards and patios of flowers. In the afternoon continue to Seville, a wonderful city, and regarded by some as the romantic capital of Andalucía. Dinner and accommodation.
 
Day 9 (Tuesday)                    SEVILLE
After breakfast take a Panoramic city tour including the Cathedral (outside only), Santa Cruz Quarter, Maria Luisa Gardens and Plaza Espana. The afternoon is at leisure to explore the city, perhaps take a river cruise along the Guadalquir or a visit to the pseudo reconstruction of Pontius Pilates House (Casa de Pilatos), which began in the 16th century, and presents an interesting blend of Mudejar, gothic and renaissance styles with its beautiful patio and gallery, elegant fountain and ornamental Minerva statues. Dinner and accommodation. Optional Artistic Excursion: Flamenco tour.
 
Day 10 (Wednesday)             SEVILLE / RONDA / COSTA DEL SOL
Following breakfast, travel the route of the white villages including a stopover in Ronda, located over a deep ravine cut into rock. Enjoy time on your own to admire this town of Celtic origin and the marvellous view of the valley and mountain range. In the afternoon continue to the Costa del Sol. Dinner and accommodation.
 
Day 11 (Thursday)                 COSTA DEL SOL
Breakfast and dinner. The whole day is at leisure. Optional tours are available.
 
Day 12 (Friday)                      COSTAL DEL SOL / TANGIER / RABAT / CASABLANCA
After breakfast, depart along the Costa del Sol to Algeciras or Tarifa. Board the Ferry and cross the strait of Gibraltar to Africa and arrive in Morocco. Disembark and pass through customs, continue by coach via Larache to Rabat, diplomatic and administrative capital, official residence f the King Mohamed VI. Take a city tour including an outside visits of the Royal Palace, Mohamed V Mausoleum and the Hassan Tower. Continue to Casablanca, the industrial and economic capital. Time at leisure. Dinner and accommodation.
 
Day 13 (Saturday)                  CASABLANCA / MARRAKECH
This morning after breakfast take a Panoramic city tour of Casablanca, including interesting city sites such as Anfa Boulevard, Nations square, and the exterior of the Hassan II Grand Mosque. Continue to Marrakech, capital of the South. Upon arrival take a city tour including the Koutoubia Tower, twin tower of the Giralda in Seville, Saadines Tombs and Bay Palace and Djemaa El Fna Square, packed with fortune tellers, snake tamers, acrobats, dancers etc. Dinner and accommodation. Evening Optional: Dinner & show at the Chez Ali Fantasia.
 
Day 14 (Sunday)                    MARRAKECH / MEKNES / FES
Breakfast and then drive to the ancient walled city of Meknes, an imperial city located in the heart of the Mid-Atlas. Take a short panoramic tour to admire the great Bab Al Mansour Gate, the most beautiful and well-known monument in this city. Continue to Fes. Dinner and accommodation.
 
Day 15 (Monday)                   FES
This morning after breakfast, take a city tour of Fes, the most ancient of the Imperial Cities of Morocco, visiting the more interesting points of the city: the 7 gates of the Royal Palace, the Jewish Quarter or Mellah, the Gate of Bab Jelous and a walking tour of the “Medina” (Old City), declared a World Heritage site. Afternoon at leisure to explore on your own. Dinner and accommodation. Evening Optional: Enjoy a dinner and show.
 
Day 16 (Tuesday)                  FES / TANGIER / COSTA DEL SOL
After breakfast, transfer to the pier and board the ferry to return to Spain. Continue to Costa del Sol. Dinner and accommodation.
 
Day 17 (Wednesday)             COSTA DEL SOL
Breakfast and dinner. The whole day is at leisure. Optional tours are available.
 
Day 18 (Thursday)                 COSTA DEL SOL / GRANADA
Depart after breakfast for Granada, a glorious city immortalised in song and verse, overlooked by the majestic snow covered Sierra Nevadas. Visit the Alhambra and Generalife Gardens, the last stronghold of the Moorish Kingdoms up to 1492, an amazing monumental environment. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and accommodation. Evening Optional: Attend a typical show of gipsy flamenco.
 
Day 19 (Friday)                      GRANADA / TOLEDO / MADRID
This morning, after breakfast travel to the Imperial city of Toledo, a national monument of Spain, where the cultures and great religions of Spain (Christian, Moorish, Judaism) have left behind a legacy. Enjoy a short guided tour of this historical old town through its narrow streets. Then visit the famous “Damasquinado” (gold and silver inlaying in iron) workshop. Continue to Madrid. END OF TOUR.
