Day 1   SATURDAY:                CASABLANCA

Arrival at Casablanca Mohamed V Airport, welcome, assistance and transfer to hotel. Dinner and accommodation.
 

Day 2   SUNDAY:                     CASABLANCA / RABAT

Breakfast and then meet your tour guide at 9.30am. Start with sightseeing of Casablanca, the business capital of Morocco with a visit to Mohammed V Square Market, exterior visit of Hassan II Great Mosque, area of Anfa and Ain Diab, the Habbous district and a chance to stroll along the Ain Diab sea side with free time for lunch. Depart for Rabat; visit the administrative capital of Morocco. Dinner at your hotel.
 

Day 3   MONDAY:                    RABAT / VOLUBILIS / MEKNES / FES

Breakfast, and then depart for Fes with a stop at the imperial city of Meknes with its many palaces and historic buildings including an impressive 40kms of walls that still surround the city. Sightseeing highlights of the old city and a good photo opportunity at Bab Mansour, one of the most impressive gates to be found in Morocco. Lunch is optional. Next the sacred Islamic town of Moulay Idriss and then Volubilis; regarded by many as the best Roman ruins in Africa, Volubilis is, as history suggests, where the Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius of “Gladiator” fame was based during his campaign through North Africa. Next is fabulous Fes for hotel check-in and dinner.
 

Day 4   TUESDAY:                   FES

The most ancient of the imperial cities, founded in the 8th century, Fes has become the cultural centre of Morocco. Exploring and sightseeing can be enjoyed for hours or days, this wonderful city is home to the world heritage medina, Fes El-Bali.
Following breakfast, the whole day will be devoted to sightseeing with a visit of the world’s oldest medieval medina including the Attarine and Bouanania, Nejjarine Fountain, and of course the souk where artisans, in the Arab, Jewish and Andalucian Quarters, still work in ancient time honoured ways. A visit to the Dyers and Tanners Quarters where sheep and goatskins are coloured and processed into fashionable garments is typically enjoyed by travellers. Dinner at your hotel.
 

Day 5   WEDNESDAY:            FES / MIDELT / ERFOUD

After breakfast, depart for Midelt, stopping in Azrou, a Berber village known for its local handicraft before continuing through this wooded and mountainous regions. Arrive Midelt with free time for lunch.
Continue in the afternoon via Errachidia and the Ziz Valley, dotted with Palm Trees that supply the fruit for the annual date festival in Erfoud. Next is Erfoud. Dinner at your hotel.
Optional – A 4WD excursion to the Erg Chebbi Dunes in Merzouga provides the chance to experience a spectacular sunset or sunrise in the mighty Sahara.
 

Day 6   THURSDAY:                ERFOUD / TINGHIR / OUARZAZATE

After breakfast depart for Tinghir via Rissani, where the ancestor of Alaouite Dynasty is buried: Moulay Ali Cherif, via the Tinejdad road. Keep your camera close for spectacular scenery including steep walls over 300 meters high which appear to have been slashed from a fairy-tale landscape. Lunch is optional. Continue to Ouarzazate via Tineghir, Boumalne, and Kelaa Mgouna, where the festival of roses is held each year. Dinner and accommodation.
 

Day 7   FRIDAY:                      OUARZAZATE / AIT BEN HADDOU / MARRAKECH

Ouarzazate, located on the crossroads to the Dades, Draa and Sous Valleys, has outgrown its “linking point” tage and is becoming a regular stop on many itineraries with tourists attracted to the berber pottery and Ouzguita carpets found in the craft centre. After breakfast, visit of Tifoultout and Taourirt Kasbahs and then depart for the world heritage site of Ait Benhaddou and a visit of its wonderful Kasbah.
Due to its historic appearance Ait Benhaddou has become a popular location for movies that include Lawrence of Arabia, The English Patient, Jewell of the Nile and Gladiator among many others.
Continue to Marrakech via the spectacular Tizi N Tichka Pass (2260 m altitude) and Taddert, this spectacular drive with many photo opportunities. Next is Marrakech, the “Pink City” with dinner on arrival at your hotel.
 

Day 8   SATURDAY:                MARRAKECH

After breakfast, the whole day will be devoted to Marrakech, the second oldest imperial city and often referred to as “the pearl of the south”. Sightseeing includes the Saadian Tombs, the Koutoubia Towerand the Bahia Palace. Free time for lunch. In the afternoon, explore the colourful souks and the wonderfully atmospheric Djemaa El Fna Square with its magical sights and sounds including snake charmers, jugglers, acrobats, storytellers, pickpockets and even dentists. Djemaa El Fna is special! Overnight at the hotel
An optional dinner and show is offered under Caidal tents at the famous restaurant “Chez Ali Fantazia” where you can enjoy live folklore bands, dancers and spectacular horsemen from different Moroccan regions.
 

Day 9   SUNDAY:                     MARRAKECH / ESSAOUIRA

Breakfast and depart. As you get closer to Essaouira it may be possible to photograph the rather unusual sight of goats climbing and eating from Argan trees.
With its Phoenician, Roman and Portuguese historical and architectural influence and impressive fortifications, Essaouira is a fascinating and comfortably paced city where the renowned local craftsman includes wood, brass and jewellery among their beautifully made products; perhaps a chance for the ladies to have temporary Henna applied by a local expert. Good shopping, fresh seafood and a wide choice of restaurants, Essaouira is a great choice for travellers who require a relaxed stopover.
 

Day 10 MONDAY:                    ESSAOUIRA / CASABLANCA

After breakfast, departure for Casablanca by the Atlantic Coast, with stop at Oualidia for relaxation and perhaps oysters considering Oualidia is the main supplier in Morocco of this seafood delicacy.
Continue along the Atlantic coast to El Jadida, where you will then have an orientation tour. Arrive in Casablanca, dinner and accommodation.
 

Day 11 TUESDAY:                   CASABLANCA/AIRPORT

After breakfast, departure transfer to Casablanca Mohamed V Airport. END OF TOUR.
