2019 Itinerary:
Day 1 (Wednesday)               MADRID / TRUJILLO / LISBON
Depart from the centrally located VPT bus terminal at 8am and drive towards Extremadura region, to Trujillo. Hometown of many discoverers of the new world, enjoy free time to see the beautiful Plaza Mayor before continuing through Portuguese landscapes, along the Alentejo plains. Arrive over the impressive bridge 25th April into Lisbon, the capital city of Portugal. Accommodation. Evening Optional: Attend a show of Fado (typical Portuguese songs and music).
Day 2 (Thursday)                   LISBON
This morning after breakfast take a sightseeing tour of the ancient Olissipo. Drive through its main squares and avenues, by the Belem Tower, Jeronimos Monastery, Monument to the Discoveries, Marquis of Pombal Square, Liberty Avenue, the Alfama quarter and the old city gathered next to the castle. Afternoon at leisure. Accommodation. Optional excursion: Sintra, Cascais and Estoril.
Day 3 (Friday)                       LISBON / FATIMA / LISBON
Following breakfast depart for Fatima, the day is at your disposal for activities of your choosing. Fatima is a centre of Christian faith and world pilgrimage. Today, maybe visit the church housing the tombstones of Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco, as well as the Chapel of Apparitions, the heart of the shrine. There will be time to attend a mass before returning to Lisbon. Accommodation.
Day 4 (Saturday)                    LISBON / CACERES / SEVILLE
After breakfast depart for Caceres in Spain, a world heritage city,founded by the Romans in 25BC. The old town section of this beautiful city invites travellers to enjoy the medieval streets, plazas, towers, battlements, palaces, churches and convents. Free time for some exploration and lunch; maybe enjoy the highly regarded local cuisine and wines at one of many inns and restaurants. Continue to Seville, a wonderful city and regarded by some as the romantic capital of Andalucía. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 5 (Sunday)                      SEVILLE
Today, after breakfast, take a morning city tour visiting the Barrio de Santa Cruz with its narrow streets, the Park of Maria Luisa and Plaza de Espana, also enjoy panoramic view of the city by coach. The afternoon is at leisure to explore the city, perhaps a river cruise along the Guadalquir or a visit to the pseudo reconstruction of Pontius Pilates House (Casa de Pilatos), which began in the 16th century, and presents an interesting blend of Mudejar, gothic and renaissance styles with its beautiful patio and gallery, elegant fountain and ornamental Minerva statues. Optional Artistic Excursion: Royal Alcazar Palace.Dinner and accommodation.
Day 6 (Monday)                     SEVILLE / CORDOBA
After breakfast depart for Cordoba where upon arrival enjoy a walking tour including the magnificent 8th century Mezquita/Mosque/Cathedral and the historic Jewish quarter, with its narrow winding streets, decorated courtyards and patios of flowers. The afternoon is at leisure to explore the city. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 7 (Tuesday)                    CORDOBA / RONDA / MARBELLA
Depart after breakfast and travel the route of the white villages with a stop in Ronda, located over the El Tajo canyon (over 100 metres deep). Ronda invites visitors to wander along the fascinating streets and alleys or relax at one of many local cafes, perhaps one overlooking the El Tajo canyon. Enjoy the beautiful regional cuisine and fine local wines while watching the world go by. Continue to the Costa del Sol, arrive in Marbella. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 8 (Wednesday)               MARBELLA
After breakfast enjoy a full day at leisure. Optional tours available. Dinner at your hotel.

Day 10 (Friday)                      MARBELLA / TANGIER / CASABLANCA
After breakfast depart for Tarifa to board the ferry and cross the Strait of Gibraltar towards Africa. Arrive into Morocco and after customs continue by motorcoach to the cosmopolitan city of Casablanca, made even more famous by the movie “Casablanca”. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 11 (Saturday)                  CASABLANCA / MARRAKECH
This morning after breakfast take a panoramic tour of Casablanca, the economical capital and most populated city in Morocco. Visit the Anfa Boulevard, Nations Square and residential areas and the exterior of the Hassan II Mosque. Next depart for the Imperial city of Marrakech, upon arrival take a sightseeing tour visiting the Koutubia, twin mosque of the Giralda of Seville, the Saddian Tombs, Bahia Palace and the famous Djemaa el Fna Square filled with magical sights and sounds including snake charmers, jugglers, acrobats, storytellers, pickpockets and even dentists. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 12 (Sunday)                    MARRAKECH / RABAT / MEKNES / FES
Breakfast and then depart for Rabat, the capital of the Kingdom of Morocco and official residence of the King, enjoy a sightseeing city tour including the exterior of the Royal Palace, Mausoleum of Mohamed V and the Hassan Tower (a symbol of Rabat). After some free time drive to the city of Meknes, located in the Mid-atlas Mountains Meknes dates back to the 17th century and is still surrounded by 40kms of historic walls and is home to the most beautiful gate in Morocco, “Bab Al Mansour”. After a panoramic tour continue to Tangier. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 13 (Monday)                   FES
This morning, after breakfast, take a sightseeing tour of the most ancient of the Imperial cities, Fes. Founded in the 8th century Fes has become the spiritual heart and cultural centre of Morocco, your sightseeing includes the Medersa, considered to be the first university of the Islamic world and the old Kasbah with its narrow streets. Take a visit to the dyers and tanners quarters where sheep and goatskins are coloured and processed into fashionable garments.See the fountain Najerine and the World Heritage medieval Medina of Fes. The afternoon is at leisure to discover and explore this is a wonderful city on your own. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 14 (Tuesday)                  FES / TANGIER / MARBELLA
After breakfast depart to board the ferry and again cross the Strait of Gibraltar, back to Spain. Continue to Costa del Sol, arrive Marbella. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 15 (Wednesday)             MARBELLA / GRANADA
Today, after breakfast depart for Granada the final stronghold of the Moorish Kingdom in 1492, a glorious city immortalised in song and verse and overlooked by the majestic snow covered Sierra Nevadas. Enjoy a sightseeing tour visiting the Alhambra and the Generalife Gardens, which showcases Moorish palaces, towers and gardens in an incomparable setting – the Alhambra is special! Dinner and accommodation. Evening Optional: Attend a typical show of gipsy flamenco.
Day 16 (Thursday)                 GRANADA / TOLEDO / MADRID
After breakfast travel to the Imperial city of Toledo, a national monument of Spain, where the cultures and great religions of Spain (Christian, Moorish, Judaism) have left behind a legacy. After lunch, enjoy a sightseeing tour including Spanish art, history and spirituality. Continue to Madrid. END OF TOUR.
