Timeless Payment Methods & Booking Conditions

Fees

Timeless provides an initial consultation, basic itinerary or quote free of charge. Detailed itineraries, quotes or bookings require a non-refundable deposit (amount depending on the booking) which will be credited towards the final cost of the program but which will not be refunded in case of cancellation for any reason.

Timeless has a minimum booking requirement of 3 nights’ accommodation or equivalent.

Final payments are due to us one month prior to passenger departure from Australia or to the first arrangement booked whichever is earlier. Some of our suppliers require earlier payment.

All cancellations/refunds are treated individually depending on conditions imposed by suppliers, foreign currency charges and administrative costs. Deposits will not be refunded. If only one full payment was made, a minimum of the deposit equivalent will be deducted from any refund.

We may charge rebooking/amendment processing fees ourselves as well as passing on fees levied by airlines or other suppliers.

Credit Card Fee Explanation

Timeless, as all merchants, is charged bank fees when it receives payment by Visa and Mastercard credit cards.
Unlike others, our bank passes on to us individual fees for each card varying from approximately 0.7% to 2.2%.
Additionally, our bank charges us its own standard service fee on all credit card transactions, currently 0.844%.
We are unable, despite an unsuccessful challenge through the Financial Ombudsman Service, to find out the fees which will be charged per card by the bank until the month after the credit card is charged.

Timeless Tours tries to balance its fee obligation to clients with not losing money on credit card processing. Therefore we charge, currently, between 1% and 3% of the amount processed on any Visa or Mastercard credit card transaction based on our estimate of the cost we will be charged by the bank.
AMEX and Diners cards levy a single fee charge on merchants. Our fee for processing these cards is 3.5%.

Clients who do not wish to be charged a credit card transaction fee by us have the fee-free alternatives of paying by cash, cheque or electronic funds transfer. Travel agents can also pay us by eNett.

The passing of the Competition and Consumer Amendment (Payment Surcharges) Act 2016 by the Australian federal parliament in February 2016 has had no effect on Timeless credit card charging practices which were always within the scope of this Act and of guidance provided by the Reserve Bank of Australia.
