Ra’s Al Hadd / Turtle Beach
Leave Muscat at 0830 to travel down the coast stopping off at Bimah Sink Hole and Wadi Tiwi for a picnic lunch. You then drive to Sur and will visit the shipyards where you might see the old dhows built by hand the same way they have been made for generations. Reach Ras Al Hadd and check in at the hotel. After early dinner you go to the beach to observe the nesting habits of the green turtles. Dinner and overnight at Ras Al Hadd Holiday. Next day, proceed to Wadi Bani Khalid. Drive past the village with its endless date plantations. The pools are cool, deep and absolutely stunning and the silky water perfect for a swim. Later you’ll proceed to the desert of Wahiba, the undulating golden sands. The great Wahiba sands are longitudinal dunes 200 km long and 100 km wide running south from the Eastern Hajars to the Arabian Sea. Dune drive with Sunset on top of the dunes. Later, you are invited to meet with a Bedouin family and gain an intimate insight into their traditional lifestyle. Next, you will proceed back to Muscat and drop off at your Hotel.

Jebel Shams / Wadi Nakhr Gorge
From Muscat travel to the interior via Fanjah, Izki, Nizwa, stop in Nizwa for a stroll through the Old Quarter of Nizwa and continuing on to Al Hamra. Stop at old village of Ghul to see the abandoned Persian ruins and travel up the canyon to Nakhr to meet the villagers. From Ghul, drive to the top of the canyon near the summit of Jebel Shams. Picnic lunch near the canyon. Visit with the local weavers and haggle for their wares. Dinner and overnight at Jebel Shams resort. On the second day, after breakfast, hike down the canyon rim, 1km above the floor, to the abandoned terraces and cliff dwellings. Then you drive back to Muscat. On our way you stop at Misfat to see a picturesque village strapped on to the side of a mountain. Drop off at your Hotel in Muscat.

Barricades and Beehive Tombs / Ibri
A journey to the past from Muscat through the Sumail Gap on to Nizwa, Bahla, Jabrin and on to Ibri. Spectacular fortresses and castles, markets of past and present are seen. Overnight at Ibri Oasis Hotel. On the second day, visit the ruined city of Sulaif and the Beehive tombs of Bat before passing through the mountains at the Wadi Bani Ghafir cutoff, on through Rustaq on the fringe of the Northern Hajars and back to Muscat. Drop off at your Hotel in Muscat.

Wahiba Sands / Wadi Bani Khalid
From Muscat travel via Fanjah and Ibra and reach the abandoned village of Al Mansfah. Much of the charm and character of this old mercantile village has not been washed away still. Our next stop is the Mudharib village, another thriving oasis. Lunch in a local restaurant at Bidiya. After lunch proceed to the undulating sands of Wahiba. Indulge in dune bashing. Camel rides are optional. Dinner and overnight in a Safari desert camp. Depart in the morning after breakfast for Wadi Bani Khalid for a hike and swim in clear water pools. Return to Muscat and drop off at your hotel.

Jabal Akhdar
From Muscat travel through Sumail gap and Izki to drive up to the roof of Oman, the Saiq Plateau which for hundreds of years was accessible only on donkeys. You will experience almost immediately the change in the climatic condition. We will have lunch at local restaurant or indulge in picnic lunch. A walk through the ‘hanging gardens’ along the falaj will be a lasting memory. Overnight at Jabal Akhdar Hotel. After breakfast stroll around to see some beautiful sights. Head down from Jebel Akhdar and move to the Al Hamra region where we visit the 2 million years old Al Hoota Cave at the foot of Jebel Shams, Oman’s epic Sun Mountain. Later we return to Muscat and drop off at your hotel.
