DEPARTS MUSCAT
Day 1 Arrival
Arrival at the Muscat International Airport. Transfer you to Park Inn Hotel-Muscat. Time on own to relax and freshen up.
Overnight at Park Inn Hotel.
Day 2 Muscat – Sur
After breakfast at the hotel you board an A/C 4WD and take the coastal route south-east via Quriyat. This drive is adventurous and offers fabulous views of sparkling white beaches covered with multi coloured shells, deep ravines, cliffs that fall dangerously into azure seas, rocks sculpted by wind and waves and lush green wadis (river beds). You reach Wadi Shab which combines the attractions of coastal areas and inland wonders. It has at least seven pools of emerald green water and is studded with dramatic boulders. One of the pools is in a cave where light streams in dramatically from above and there are fantastic echoes heard when one swims in it. You break for a picnic lunch. Post lunch you proceed to Sur which lies near the easternmost tip of the Sultanate about 300 kilometres south of Muscat. Check in at the Sur Plaza Hotel. Time on own to relax and freshen up. Day 3 Sur – Ras Al Jinz
After breakfast at the hotel check out start a sightseeing of the Town of Sur. Surs has being once the centre of the local boat building industry. You visit the Dhow yards were you might be able to see dhows still made with bare hands. Post the dhow yard visit, enjoy a boat ride along the coast (Optional). Lunch at a local restaurant. Further continue to the turtle beach at Ras Al Al jinz where you might see the nestling habits of the green turtle at night.
Dinner and overnight: camp at the beach. (B/L/D)
Day 4 Ras Al Jinz – Ras Ar Ruways
After breakfast you continue on the graded roads to the edge of the spectacular Wahiba Sands (a perfect specimen of a sand sea) which you can cross either via the beach track (at low tide) or over the dunes (high tide) – either way, a beautiful, exhilarating drive. Erect the tents before sunset. Enjoy the dinner by lovely beach. Dinner and overnight at the camp on the beach at Ras ar Ruways, on the southern edge of the desert. (B/LL/D)
Day 5 Ras Ar Ruways – Jaalouni
After breakfast you start your journey turning inland from Ras Ar Ruways and head south west to reach Jaalouni. You visit the Arabian Oryx Sanctuary in the company of Bedouin guides. Later camp for the night. Enjoy a dinner by the desert skies. Dinner and overnight Camping at Jaalouni. (B/LL/D)
Day 6 Jaalouni – Ras Al Madrakah
After breakfast at the camp you proceed to glimpse the local wildlife, mainly gazelle and oryx in the Jiddat Al Harasis region, you drive back east to see the striking white cliffs of Ras Madrakah, jutting out into the Arabian sea. And the ghostly wrecks of ships beneath them; you also admire the natural contrast of black rocks, white beach and deep blue ocean. Ras Madrakah which is a peninsula that exists in the further south of Duqm. A lot of camels can be seen, and villages are scattered along the coast. Erect your tents for the night. Enjoy the famous romance of the desert nights with dinner at an open fire under the incredible starlit sky. Dinner and overnight camping at Ras Al Madrakah. (B/LL/D)
Day 7 Ras Al Madrakah – Wadi Shuwaymiyah
After breakfast your coastal drive continues, you will drive past via Juwayrah, the magnificent pink lagoons of Al Kahil to Al Jazir and then on the spectacular Wadi Shuwayamiyah with its dramatic vertical cliffs of white limestone. The wadi forms a huge snaking canyon and is considered Oman’s largest and probably most spectacular wadi. There will be time for a refreshing swim in the deep permanent pools of sweet water before heading to the stunning Ash Shuwaymiyah beach where you can set camp for the night, the last camp on your journey. Enjoy the dinner by the bonfire under the open skies. Dinner and overnight camping at Shuwaymiyah

Day 8 Ash Shuwaymiyah – Salalah
Breakfast at the camp. You start your journey to Salalah passing the oilfields of Marmul and then on the high way from Thumrayt. You reach your final destination from the north via the Qara Mountain. Check in at the hotel. Time on own to relax and freshen up. Lunch and Dinner on own.

Day 9 Salalah
After breakfast at the hotel you drive across West of Salalah to the Qara mountains where you can see the real beauty of Dhofar Mountains. At Job’s tomb, where the remains of the Islamic prophet possibly identified as Job of the Old Testament can be found. From here you can see a unique panoramic view of the Al Garbib Plain. The tour continues towards Mughsayl – pass by Frankincense trees – Stop and smells the aroma of the holy incense and reaches the magnificent sandy beach outlined by sculptured cliffs and Blow holes, where plumes of water can reach a height of 30m or more. The view up the coast where the mountains drop in to the sea is magnificent. Visit Mughsayl and Salalah Bird sanctuaries. Break for lunch. After lunch you continue your drive to see the splendours of the East you pass the Royal Farm and Marmura Palace on the way to Taqa, the village is famed for Sardines and Fertilizers. Here you can see an interesting castle. East of Taqa lays the ruins of Sumhurum (Khor Rori), where the legendary palace of Queen Sheba is believed to have been. Khor Rori was also a port for Frankincense trade. A drive along the coastal road takes you to the old city of Arabian horses and Slave trade, Mirbat. After a photo stop at Bin Ali Mosque, built in the 14th century, visit Mirbat Castle and the Old Merchant Houses, which is similar to Yemeni architecture with its carved doors and windows. Returning to Salalah, we continue through the home of Jebalis with their camel and cattle herds. At the foot of the Qara mountains, you reach a natural spring of Ain Razat which is a beautiful park surrounded by hills. Return Back to the hotel. Time on own to relax and freshen up. Dinner on own.

Day 10 Salalah
After breakfast you check out of the hotel you start your half day Salalah City Tour. This tour will give you a variety of old and modern culture of the region. You drive through the greenery of coconuts, Banana and Papaya plantations. You first stop is the Heritage Souk, where you can find different types of Omani crafts and incense burners. Visit to the New Souk will give you an exact view of the Arabian market. Later you proceed to the Gold souk which offers modern and olden style Dhofari ornaments. On the way to Al Hafa, you can see some typical Dhofari houses with caravan windows and doors. Walking past the Sultan’s Residential Palace Al Husn, you can reach the Old Souk where Frankincense, Dhofari traditional clothes and cosmetics are available. Before returning to the hotel, visit the ancient city of Zufar, the ruins of Al Balid, which was visited by Ibn Batuta and Marco Polo, describing it as a ‘beautiful, large and noble city’. The ruins of Al Balid are now converted into an Al Balid Archaeological Park and Museum. End of Tour. Lunch at a local restaurant.After lunch transfer to Salalah Airport for your return flight to Muscat and connecting flight back home from Muscat International Airport. (B/L)
